Dana Zeimer, Soprano

Hi, I'm Julia!

I don’t teach basic vocal technique — I rebuild voices, expand range, and restore lost function.

With nearly 20 years of experience as a voice technician and opera singer, I specialize in advanced vocal training for classical singers. My work focuses on myofunctional voice rehabilitation, reactivating thin-edge function, developing true range flexibility, and building vocal muscle for long-term sustainability.

My clients perform with companies such as Deutsche Oper, The Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, Wiener Staatsoper, Houston Grand Opera, Salzburger Festspiele, and Theater an der Wien. They’ve advanced in major competitions including the Metropolitan Opera National Council and Schmidt Vocal Competition, and have earned scholarships to top conservatories and universities.

Most importantly, they’re singing with more freedom than ever—building real careers, not just collecting accolades.

As an opera singer, I have performed with companies such as the National Moravian-Silesian Theater, National Theater of Croatia–Split, Opera Orlando, Opera Naples, Annapolis Opera, Wichita Grand Opera, Gulfshore Opera, and Tri-Cities Opera. Major roles include Amelia (Un Ballo in Maschera), Marietta (Die tote Stadt), Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus), Donna Elvira/Anna (Don Giovanni), Violetta (La Traviata), Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), Susannah, and Suor Angelica.

I have received numerous awards, including first prizes in the Jenny Lind Competition, Connecticut Concert Opera Competition, and Marcella Kochanska Sembrich Competition; second prizes in the Kosciuszko Foundation Competition and National Federation of Music Clubs Biennial Young Artist Awards; third prize in the New Jersey State Opera Competition; and a Career Bridges Foundation grant.

I currently live in Bratislava, Slovakia, with my husband, a Slovak opera conductor, and maintain a residence in Orlando, Florida.

Julia provides a supportive, non-pressuring environment where you can progress step by step.

"After taking a long break from singing, I looked for the right teacher to guide me back. I knew I needed a different approach, and that’s how I found Julia. What drew me to her work was her attention to detail and her scientific, physiology-oriented approach. From the first note she could tell which laryngeal muscles I needed to strengthen and gave me specific exercises. She also identified issues in my breathing patterns that were new to me and helped me achieve a better tone."
